With Mindfulness We Build Culture
Share
When we started brand Bindhani we thought to scale up the business as much as possible in a short period of time and aspired to become a top and most popular brand in the e-commerce marketplace. We were growing day by day with the revenue and profits along with excess load of work and pressure, soon we realized that something is missing in our work culture. The missing part was not seeing the surroundings as it is. We started brand to work with artists, to help them in all possible ways and to build a happy organizational work culture but ended up in accumulating cravings and materialistic achievements. Soon, the day came when I found a article in a newspaper with an interview of Jack Dorsey (Twitter Founder). It was an interview about his experience of ten days vipassana retreat in Burma, taught by principal teacher Shri S N Goenka Ji. Immediately, I googled it and thought this might be one technique i was looking for. I booked my first vipassana ten days retreat in Bangalore center. After ten days I realized that I found a key to balance my personal life with a better work culture. Today, all full time employees of Bindhani has attended one or more courses at Vipassana center and they are benefitted. Due to regular practice of vipassana, eight habits cultivate in mind, naturally: -
The Noble Eightfold Path
- Right understanding (Samma ditthi)
- Right thought (Samma sankappa)
- Right speech (Samma vaca)
- Right action (Samma kammanta)
- Right livelihood (Samma ajiva)
- Right effort (Samma vayama)
- Right mindfulness (Samma sati)
- Right concentration (Samma samadhi)
