Types of teej vibration and colors of Bindhani

Green Bangles , green outfit & Teej Vibes 🌿💚

In India, Teej is a vibrant festival primarily celebrated by women to honor love, marital bliss, and the well-being of their spouses. There are three main types of Teej celebrated across different regions of India, each with its own cultural flavor:

Hariyali teej : celebrated for reunion of Lord shiva and parvati.

Hartalika teej : Goddess Parvati’s penance to win Lord Shiva as her husband. Women, especially unmarried girls, fast and pray for an ideal husband. In jodhpur girls do dhamoli on auspicious ocassion of teej. In Jodhpur, it’s a cherished tradition for girls to swing on decorated jhoolas early in the morning and then observe a fast — a beautiful blend of joy and devotion during Teej.

Kajari teej : Associated with crop harvesting and rains, widely celebrated in Binhar. Women sing Kajri folk songs, fast, and worship neem trees and Goddess Parvati for marital bliss.
